howdy

Had a scare yesterday...hubby was soooo tired, just wanted to sleep...was blah. I just had a bad feeling. I even asked him if he'd had a stroke. Seems like an extreme reaction, but it made me realize again that I am married to diabetes. He is okay today...but I am on watch at all times. How are you, ladies?

  2. I felt like your hubby - naturally, during the holidays. Just wanted to sleep. No symptoms of illness - no chills or fever, unusual aches or pains, etc - just NO energy. Finally, during one of the apparently endless football games that have been going on lately, I started having terrible abdominal cramps. I went to the doctor the next day and he sent me to the ER right away. They said I had diverticulitis and put me on an antibiotic (which in itself is a great trick since I am allergic to so many of them.) But it worked. The pain went away, and gradually, my energy is coming back.

But I'm still scared to stay alone with my 3-year-old granddaughter. I actually fell asleep while she and I were watching cartoons last month. I woke up to find myself sitting alone on the living room sofa, and jolted to my feet to look for my granddaughter. She was having a picnic in another room with the cats, happily handing out dry cat food crumblies to each cat in turn, and occasionally munching on one herself. So, no harm done, but until I'm sure I can stay awake while I'm on duty, I don't dare take on responsibility for such a precious little one.
